The right side up pentangle is the symbol of Human Will over the Elements.
The reversed pentangle symbolizes the Human Will being conquered by the elements.
Therefore it symbolizes a philosophical point of view. Not good or evil, which are just perspectives of morality.
Anton Szandor LaVey believed that all humans are weak in will, should give into their urges and surrender themselves to natural order.
SO obviously the reversed pentangle is the perfect symbol to represent his philosophy. He mixed Christianity and NEO-Pagan traditions into a mockery of religion and magick.
Becareful not to insult Pagans by calling them Satanists.
